Concrete is a quieter material and it’s smooth, so it’s good for morning routines or basketball. Unfortunately, it also takes more time for installation. 

Asphalt, like concrete, is a mixture, but that’s where the similarities end. Asphalt is a combination of sand, tone, and bitumen that gets heated into a liquid state and brought to your home. It’s more like cement than concrete because of the form it takes. Once we’ve transported it and poured it into the driveway mold, it can take around 24 hours to dry. For a driveway, that’s a pretty quick installation and it doesn’t cost as much as other materials. It lasts a while, though not as long as concrete. However, asphalt can be used to create all sorts of driveway shapes and sizes, thanks to its expanding properties. The other negative is that each manufacturer can differ in the quality of asphalt.
